what firmware is your drive flashed with and if you dont know that, how recently did you flash it. This method is for use only with early Hitachi firmware.

It could be a problem with the burner or the media you are using

Are there any 360 drives that cannot be flashed (ie if i pick one up from a shop), or do all the drives currently avaliable all have the ability to be flashed?

Cheers

why are there still SOOOOO many posts about flashing?!?!?!

Is there any way of making an FAQ about flashing? while I myself am no expert in the subject, it only takes a serach of the first page or two to find every answer.... so why is no one doing it?!?!?!?

Is there any chance a few of the nut heads could get together n sort it? cheers guys

the basics are there, if someone wants to learn how to flash it themselves then they are much better off going to X-S forums which is specialised and will give far more comprehensive help.

just thought i'd ask you to incorporate something into these notes re: opening the 360 case etc.

this morning i went to follow a guide from xbox scene, that was to show me how to removes the dvd drive,.

in that guide, and another, it was stated that i needed a torx6,7+12 driver to remove various screws.

me being a pleb walked round town, went in every diy / hardware shop, and looking for these torx drivers..

anyway, came home and tried a T10 i had already, which worked fine in opening the case and removing the drive.

just a little bit of info that would save everyone time, if they are following these xbox scene type guides. T10 drivers are available everywhere.

On the subject of that guide, Im sure its the anandtech one.

You only need a T10 - the guide itself is for removing every internal component.

You only need to remove 6 Silver T12 (T10) Screws.

4 Corners and 2 Central.
