datawrite greys been best for me so far, but that could change shortly was a few decent discs about in 2004 _________________ all Backups sold on the understanding that you own the original
My Refs My Ebay Auctions
I have used over 100 of the new Bulkpaq Fuji dye 8x and I have to say these are definitely the best value for the money you pay!
Not one coaster and cheap as chips! Just cause you can burn an 8x disc at 12x doesn't mean it's a better disc - have found a lot of other "name" brands that produced coasters when burned at max speed!
Just my opinion - welcome back Bulkpaq!
Cheers! _________________

the fuji (not he crap prodisc thrown into teh mix to absolutely annoy everyone) greys.
Heard these are are being stopped as well and thats why the pro-disc greys are now prevailent over the fuji dye to put people off them to promote sales of the titanium.
If true it's sad a company like datawrite can rip it's customers off by not sticking to one dye type per disc.
Don't really rate the titaniums at all.
The yellows I tried a while back for ok but I dunno i fhtey are the same now or not. _________________ "Any backups supplied to you by us are supplied on the understanding that you own the original copy, if you do not, then you must destroy the backup copy as supplied within 24hrs as a sample copy"
Voted for Bulkpaq 8x printable MCC as the dye is fantastic and its printable and cheap!
Wouldn't it be nice if one of the sponsors could put together a pack of a few of each of these disks at a special price to try out? That way we could really give a proper opinion!

I'm sure all of them do sample packs already.......... _________________
They do but you don't normally know what disks are in there - it would be nice if it was a standard cake box of 25 but with mixed disks like the latest ones or you could pick and choose.

As has already been posted by our sponsors, they do not like spliting cake boxs. Due to the disks getting damaged and dirt in them. then people complain. All cake boxes are shrink wraped at source in clean areas to stop contamination.
So how do they do the sample packs that they already sell???? All I am saying is larger sample packs that you can pick and choose and at a reasonable price!
I think the choice of best discs this year is going to be between the titanium or the yellows.
I recieved an email from one webstore which i have replicated below.
The DVD-R heavyweight championship of the world 2005
Datawrite Yellow 8X
In the yellow Corner we have the undefeated heavy weight champion of the world the Datawrite yellow 8x. This contender in its previous incarnation as a 4x disc has obliterated the competition time and time again. Early Knockouts have been its forte. First round victories have been the norm. Nobody has made this disc do some work in the ring they simply haven’t been good enough to stand up to him. The acclaim from its supporters has been unsurpassed. The best selling disc of 2004!!
Vital Statistics:
Dye: Mitsubishi.
Lead in: CMCMAGAE1
Datawrite Titanium 8x
In the Grey Corner we have the steroid enhanced monster known as Titanium. An awesome adversary from the Far East. Its designers claim this contender is indestructable. With a unique scratch proof surface and and ultra compatible dye formulation. In his several outings so far he has punched his way to the top and steamrollered the competition. But this is his European debut against a true champion.

Dye: Mitsubishi

So we have the clash of the Titans. Toe-to-toe and head-to-head, there is nothing between these two - the best warriors of modern times.
So i guess it will be between these two discs it will be intersting to see the test review results from our members to see what they say about the Datawrite Yellow once the test review discws have been sent.
not tried them all but ahve to go with Datawrite Titanium as they are the only ones that play div x in my standalone, not one problem and been thru plenty! _________________ Any Sales/Trades/Purchases made by me are done so on the understanding I /You own the original. I have burnt over a 1800 Bulkpaq MCC dye 8x printable (U.K DVDR)
at 12x or 16x on pioneer 108's & only had half a dozen fail due to user error, absolutely brilliant disk.
I only changed from Datasafe 4x GO4 ritek's that i burned @ 8x because i
took part in some of Disqworld's test's, many thnx Disqworld. _________________ Any backups supplied are supplied on the understanding that you own the original.Any backups supplied must be destoyed within 24 hours if you don't own the original.
MY REFS
i use datasafe 8x, about 1500 in the last couple of weeks and for £20 per 100 think they are great value, i thought these use the same dye as titaniums so why pay £3per 100 more
