MP3 BITRATE HELP NEEDED
I have some mp3s that are 192kbs and i would like to lower the bitrate so that the quality is still good but be smallar in file size to go on my mp3 player any help would be welcome. also my mp3 player supports mp1 , mp2 , mp3 , wma , wmv , asf and wav formats which one is the smallest

to be honest mate the lower the bitrate the poorper the sound quality as it strips the frequencies until it starts sounding like atlantioc 252 (long wave radio for those who dont know what it is) the best format you can really afford to go to without a major loss of sound quality is 96kbs , if you start jumping on the ratio bandwagon, im not sure this is accurate but 160kbs song is around 1/10th of the size of the original wav file (CD Audio) I would say at 96kbs is around 1/17th Smaller,
you would probably lose about 25/30% filespace swopping from 192kbs to 96kbs, either that or use windows media as the files are quite small
