I went in December just gone. Was sooo great!

First thing I didn't realise...was the weather. I thought it was going to be cold...but it sooo wasn't! Blue skys every day. I went for 4 nights straight after 4 nights in New York. So I had all warm clothing knowing that NY would be freezing, and expected Vegas to be the same! Its meant to be scorching in summer!

I stayed in the New York New York hotel (spot the theme lol) Was a really nice hotel to stay in, and not over priced at all. Has everything you would need all in one place....including a roller coaster! And the downstairs cafes etc are made to look like your actually on a NY street. Even has steam coming out of man holes!

But if i went back, i think i would get something more in the middle of the strip. With that hotel, its more towards the end. No problems getting around though. And is dead opposite the MGM Grand, Gamesworks (arcade place) and a cinema. And theres a little bus/tram thing that costs around a $1 that goes up and down the strip all day anyways.

You must go to the outlet malls. Think there is two. I only went to one, it was down towards the Stratesphere. Really cheap place, couldn't get me out of the Sketchers shop!

Any others questions....fire away... Very Happy

If you want loads of good advice for Vegas (and in fact anywhere else) have a look at the Holiday truths forums,

M8 Vegas is ace, doesnt really matter where you stay as long as it is one of the bigger hotels like new york new york, luxor etc.. A big tip.. veer off the strip and head for the Rio hotel for a night out, its only a minute of the strip but i found it to be the only casino with a prty atmosphere.. they have dancers going round, show, performers, comedians all while you are gambling... Dead opposite the rio is the palms suite, this is supposed to be the trendiest place where all the big rollers go, when i was there i saw this lil china man using 25k chips... unreal!! also this is the place that hugh heffner has all his parties in the voodoo loungs, which is a bar on the top floor and it gives you gr8 views of vegas at night..

Also do the helicopter flight over the hoover dam and the grand cnayon, we done it with papillon helicopters and we landed in the cnayon and had a champagne dinner then when you get back to vegas its dark and they fly you down the strip... cool!!!

Also gotta do the rides on top of the stratosphere.... cool but what ever you do dont stay there... the taxi man told us that this is where most of the car jacking and muggings take place as it is right nest to the drug capital of vegas..

Head down tropicana avenue to the las vegas gun store, here you can hire pretty much any gun and use it in the range out back.. i hiread an m16 machine gun and blasted saddam hussain, you can choose your target!! then go next door and have a few dirnks and if you spend over $8 you get a free limo ride anywhere in town...

Its such a cool place with so much to see and do.. if you want any advice drop us a line,, glad to help... i am trying to convince the girlfriend to go back next year!!!

i was lucky enough to "work" there for 5 weeks(about 1 hr work a week lol), absolutely fantastic place and would have stayed another 5 weeks, its not all about gambling, theres so much to see and you dont have to spend a fortune, you will have a great time,i went in may/june and it was in the 90's every day.
