Any backups supplied by me are on the basis that you own the original, if not you must destroy within 24 hours

Thats right mate, they will also take £1. coins off you in the market, you would be suprised what you can buy for a £1. coin.
I changed my money here but you can also change out there, i used my hotel as it was the same exchange rate as the banks

We are going with seasoned Turkey travelllers and they swear by taking £10 notes. I believe, although I'm not sure if it's true that you have to hand over a tenner to get in the country?

Then when you reach your destination hand over one to a porter/hotel worker and he will look after you all through your stay. We are going at the end of July, apparently it's supposed to be a little warm!

everyone pays a tenner to get in to turkey.
i found that it was best to change money in the hotels.you may seem to get a better deal from the banks but when they take their commision off you will end up worse off.
haggle on everything then walk away, the price will soon come down.

have been going to marmaris for the past 5 years,,and yes you need an english ten pound note to get into country,it to pay your tax,....also,as of last year,if you don't have a english tenner,,they will let you pay by visa,,but if you've seen the guys who let you in,,,,,i'd feel safer handing over my tenner than my visa card,,,,,,,oh,and don't look for a smile from them,or any kind of welcome to our country,as i get the impression, they only want yer money and no you...but once you are there,it good,,,i here that icmeler is a lot better than marmaris,,,,,,as my pop's goes to icmeler,,but i met a lot of nice people first year there, and it due to friendships i've made that makes me keep going back to there,,,have a good hol anyway mate, and let us knwo how u get on,,,,,,,,,,don't exchange too much cash before you go hun,,you wont need to,,there exchange rate is good ,and nomrally your hotel will meet any exchange rates locally,,,,,,,,

www.holidaytruths.co.uk < go to this website and find the turkey forum all the help/advice you will need is in there .. one thing you can use the ATMS over there as long as you have Cirus on your bank card .. lot easier than dealing with cash and travelers cheques .. yes Turkish traders do like Sterling and you can get diff rates of exchange not just from the exchange centers but bars etc but when you look at 2.000.000 +lira per pound it would need a massive increase for it to be worth going to a bank or exchange center when you can just go to an ATM there are loads of them in the Main tourist places on the Agean Coast ... HTH

Very Happy

ATM's

Yes, I agree!
I stopped taking travellers cheques on holiday, 5 or 6 years ago!
I just take a £100 of local currency, to cover the first couple of days & then use the local ATM's, & they are everywhere.
Been to Turkey 7 times & always used the ATM's.
Most of them are state of the art & when you put your card in, it comes on the screen, in English " Good Morning Michael (or whatever your name is!) simple as that!
No worry's
Have a nice time!!!
Cool Cool Cool
