cant get into explorer,my browser was hijacked tried loads of software been on the microsoft site they said i had to reformat is this true tried to repair from my os disc no change any ideas

best thing to do is ditch explorer and use firefox

I agree - any Mozilla is fine, though I use Opera now which is atleast as good. The quick way to reformat and bring your PC back to exactly the way it was is to do a backup with Norton Ghost (when no viruses are present of course). Saves you reinstalling the OS and only takes less than 2 hours for about 40 gigs. All your files, folders, programmes - EVERYTHING is re-installed exactly as it was when you made the backup.
