I've downloaded an audio book that is one big mp3 file and i want to split it up into smaller files - can anyone suggest a prog to do it please?

If its to burn to create a cd you could create a cue sheet which would give you trackmarks

Yeah sounds liek you are missing the .cue (cue sheet) that tells nero or other app how to chapter the audio file on CD.

There is a site (i need the link again myelf) that has a search engine in it for .cue sheets.

Once you have it, to check this is ok foobar will read a .cue sheet so you can see if the indexing is ok.

Also google .cue sheet maker, a bit time consuming, but you may be happy to try and write one yourself. You do this using note pad then changing the extention.

Cool edit 200 or Adobe Audition should do the trick.
