 help please

hi,can someone please tell me how to get rid of this {search assistant} its in the add/remove folder but it wont delete..when i click to remove i get a message saying cant uninstall...it has hijacked my home page and i get loads of popups...ive tried lots of software...hijack this..registry tuneup and cchredder..search &destroy...but nothing sems to get rid of it..has anyone any suggestions...regards theted Embarassed

If none of the above work, try this.
Go into tools and Internet Tools, Delete your Cookies and then Delete your Files both online and offline. Then do all the above again....That should work.
