Golf Gti's are going cheap these days.

Otherwise you might laught but a Primera 2 ltr sgx they are cheap to run, cheap on insurance. Has the GT engine but no air con and added insurance cost. And for approx £100 you can get it chipped.

I had one of these for 5 yrs when the kids were small and it had 120mph on the clock,burried that and still had more. Took a few standard scoobies on and kept up with them. It cost us a total of £500 in parts inc wear and tear for the whole of the 5 years. What a nice sleeper!!

Otherwise if you can find approx 3 - 4k get an Evo 1. But you are into very high insurance cost's etc. But I wouldn't look back now.
