MS28 Flashing Advice Please.

Ok fellas, just got a new MS28 off Ebay for 23 delivered Smile

Have the key from the old drive here but not the 360.

What are my options without the machine, if it's any help I have the Xecuter connectivity kit V1.

Bit lost at the minute reading all the guides.

Cheers

Tried that, the new one wouldn't work Sad

It's also sticking a lot when trying to eject and sometimes not spinning up properly.

Figured a full drive replacement would be a better idea. Now if only I could find a decent guide on flashing. Tried iPrep before and it will only work with an original firmware, no go with the version with my key patched in. Just need a guide on directly flashing a patched firmware using the Xecuter kit instead of using the 360.

Swap the drive chassis - retain the board?

I was thinking about doing this, although when I replaced the laser last time I found the ribbon cables a pain to get back in once removed, especially the one that goes from the laser to the board. Figured it would be better to leave it all alone and just flash it with ixtreme 1.4 as it's currently on 1.2 and behaves slightly strange at times.
