I would say that a YAOSM is the cheapest and easiest to fit on an original Wii. It should cost you about £5 for the chip and a bit of wire and solder. True - the D2Pro is more current but there is nothing that won't play on my nephew's YAOSM chipped Wii yet and there seems to be support still for the YAOSM. Having said that I only use PAL DVDs.

The YAOSM is a lot easier to solder than the D2CPro too.... only 5 solder points and they are reasonable size ones too - unlike for the D2Pro.

It depends what you mean by 'best'. You have the fortune of having a Wii that is cheaply chipped so why not take advantage of that fact?

D2Pro on a launch wii uses the same 5 solder points and no extra so that isn't a downside but I do agree with you that yaosm is a good chip which is why i've installed loads of them Smile
