I have just been to mothers for dinner, left at 6 and car was fine just drove home now, stopped off at tesco for some milk etc car was fine. Got back in, turned engine on started fine, drove off and noticed the engine management light had come on and i then checked what it was in my book and it said "glowplugs" ? what are these or what do they do and are they expensive? it says in the book to seek technical assistance immediatley?

Assuming it`s a diesel mate......glow plugs are basically a heater in the top of each cylinder that heat up for the better starting of a diesel engine. You can pay between £5.00 and £25.00 depending on which ones you need HTH.

They always go when it gets colder you maye be ok for another 6000 miles on them, it just gets hard to start in the cold.

its a diesel yes, i had someone coming round to look at it with vag com but the day they were coming round the light went off so i cancelled. I shouldnt of really as i wanted to know what it was, he was charging £25 to do it. I in the end managed to get a guy from a seatcupra forum to come help me out and he did for free, there was two fault codes.

1 was speed sensor and the other was centrol locking even though not had any problems with it. he cleared the faults and not come on since
