oscommerce

Hi all just uploaded oscommerce up sucessfully except i get the below problem

There seems to be pages & pages dedicated to solving this problem but using one.com domain and smartftp ive haave absolutely no joy in resetting via 'chmod'

Research below

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/xxxxxx/public_html//includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

Q: What should i do to set the right user permission ???

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: c:/phpdev/www/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

A: you need to chmod the configure.php file to 644

This doesnt solve the ruddy problem

Do i need to get in contact with support and if so what do i say?!

this is not my site but look how bad it looks! [I sorted the top red message]

You probably dont have the correct permissions to change the permissions.

If you have tried CHMOD, did the file permissions change AT ALL?

If they didn't, you should get a message saying you weren't able to change them.

Personally i would log in as root via SSH and do it from the command line

you would also be better off installing it in the root directory rather than 2 folders down
