Just turned the ps3 on and it wont play any games....will play films ok and thats it, only 3 months old and minimum use so where do i stand etc

Bought it from my local branch of gamestation....the guys didnt even test it which gives you a little faith back in retailers and they were very polite to with none of this "have you tried this and have you tried that" or "are you sure none of the connections are loose". 10/10 for their service.

The worrying thing i found was that it was only 10 weeks old with minimal use but just more or less died....hopefully this one will do better:)

from what ive heard on here everyone that isnt a day to day gamer on the ps3 is finding there having probs with the system does anyone know if this is a prob with the ps3 dust geting in or something ive heard leaving a game in 4 3 days after use can cause faults with the reader

there is a method of blowin the dust out of your ps3

turn the ps3 off via the back switch. then keep your finger on the eject button and turn it back on with the back switch while keeping your finger on the eject button.

the internal fans will run fully blowing out any dust inside.

its worth doing 1/2 times a month to keep it clean. but not too often.

Still using my launch machine, as are a lot of mates I work with, none have died so far. Mine sat for 3 months without being turned on, not had a problem with it at all.

I think it's down to user error most of the time
