Cost of Running a Boiler on LPG

My Central Heating and Hot Water are powered by natural gas, I have quite an old boiler and will be upgrading it to a condensing combi boiler shortly. I am toying with the idea of buying a boliler that can run on either nat gas or LPG and maybe using propane. Does anyone have any idea how long a propane cylinder would last and how running on LPG compares on cost to natural gas.

I thought most gas boilers (especially nowadays) run either gas, for lpg it is just a case of adding a restictor in the gas line to increase pressure as lpg needs to run at a higher pressure than natual gas.
I would assume lpg is dearer than natural gas, but I am assuming this.

What about a multifuel boiler, if you have room for lpg bottles have you thought about a pellet (wood pellets automatically fed in as required) fed boiler?

Never heard of a pellet boiler. Will do a search on the web.I was thinkin of fitting a new combi and as you say most are switchable from nat gas to LPG. I was thinking of keeping a few propane cylinders handy as a back up in case gas supplies go tits up this winter. I was wondering how long a propane cylinder would last.

i also dont think you can just swap you boiler from gas to lpg as its in the boiler you got to do this i would check the prices on both lpg and gas see whats cheaper and also you will need a cylinder outside so need the space for this to go and needs filling up so find out how much that is i think calor do that for you in a lorry
