Engine Oil!! How Bl00dy Expensive!?

£40 for 4 litres in Halfords! Surprised

Apparently I need -

5W/40 fully synthetic - for my diesel car

and

10W/40 part synthetic - for my petrol car

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy Oil from? And are they all the same or is any of the marketing hype true?

I did a search but...
http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=engine%20oil&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wf
there's loads Sad

Thanks
MBB

Unless you have a real performance car, I beleive your better not buying the real expensive synthetic oil, just buy something reasonable and change it every 5,000 miles. My deisel cavalier went on for 200,000 miles, and never missed a beat.

Now got a diesel Mondeo and take the same approach.
