Since Verbatims are too expensive I need an alternative. The dye quality needs to be only good enough for PC DVD-ROM.
Main issue I have is that I don't want too many bad coaster and/or corrupted discs. Burning speed: 4x. Possibly from svp.co.uk.

Anyone familiar with the following brands:
Aone Full-Face Printable (8x) Double Layer DVD+R
PiData Ritek Printable Double-Layer 8x DVD+R

ive done disks scans on various media. CMC D01 seems to have very low errors. (CMC 2.4x or the Zero Defex 2.4x use this dye) but the CMC D03 and D04 arent as good. seems hard to get hold of the D01 lately though. ive had 3 batches which were listed as the D01 dye and turns out to be the D03/4

the RICOHJPND01 is nasty. (i think thats what the Aone uses) its ok for the first layer but the second layer regularly has errors in the 100s. so you play a game or film and think its fine, its not until your half way through that it starts to have problems. its probably why theyre the cheapest.

Ritek S04 isnt too bad. i think thats what the Pidata Ritek uses.

If youre only using it for PC dvd-rom then to be honest most disks would be fine. the ritek, zero defex or cmc should be fine for your needs and are all similarly priced at SVP. just pick whichever one they have in stock for the cheapest out of those three.

best selling dual layers are fortis non and printable discs burn good at 4x
aone non printables (new dye) burn good at 4x
