smelly washing machine!!!!
Just noticed today that there is a faint sour smell coming from my washing machine, anybody know what causes this to happen? if so what can be done about it? _________________

don't leave washing stuck in there for too long with the door closed once it's done, and keep the door ajar when not in use - get a bit of air in there

Run an empty wash cycle with WHITE VINEGAR in the machine, Yup, really, it kills the smells completely, don't believe me, google it

This does work!!!
I use it all the time
vinegar is the best thing out there for fixing smells
Put 1 cupfull in the machine and some in the conditioner drawer and put the machine on its highest temp setting _________________ Any purchases made by me are on the grounds that I own the original, if not the backup will be destroyed within 24 hours

we had the same problem- kind of a sour off smell coming from it.. tried most of these suggestions with no luck. i think our problem was some type of mould inside the seal which would clean up ok and be fine for a few days then come back. ended up with a new washer after paying £50 (yes £50) to have the seal refitted after i manhandled it off and couldnt replace it!-
cheers

as above but also what scotie said ref the waste pipe as if it isn't bent in a u shape in order to create a sort of non retirn valve then that is probably were the smell is comming from good luck _________________ backups supplied on understanding u own or intend to own original or must be destroyed within 24hrs
i had this trouble aswell did a search on net and found out that if only use machine on low heat all the time this can be the problem so now every once a week use the machine on the hot setting and it seams to have sorted the problem out. _________________ Any backups supplied by me are on the understanding that you own the origanal,
