Real Media (rmbv) to Mpeg

Hey guys. A fried of mine recently gave a couple of dvds to watch, how, they work fine on the PC but not in a dvd/ PS3 player as the files are real media file types. Can anyone recommend some free software to convert them to play on a dvd player? (mpeg....etc)
