No your not doing anything wrong, some streams are just bad quality. You've got to remember thousands of footy fans are all watching the same stream from all over the world, so theres goin to be some bad quality streams there. You must also remember to give it 15 mins to buffer fully and settle in.
Saying that i usually find the streams to be half decent quality, and can even double the screen in size sometimes.
