Dupe Slow Speeds

Im a complete noob with a dupe so go easy on me please Smile

Got a 1:1 acard duplicator yesterday and right away i noticed it was a little slow, trying to burn a full disk takes around 15 minutes at 8x (faster to burn on the fly on my PC)

I did a little bit of reading and ive made sure my drives firmware are up to date, also read that the acard itself might need the firmware updating but i cant find anything on the acard site at all

The number on the acard is ARC781-A

Can some one talk me through this, or maybe add me on msn (pm me for addy)

Many thanks

Looks like the firmware on the acard is up to date (223z)

Could this be the problem? I thought the drives were up to date but the rom isnt, the firmware is F$01 and theres a F$02 available

Cant be botherd to change update it at this time of night if it's not going to make any difference

Many thanks

if you writing from one disc to another (dvd to dvd) you aint gonna write much faster than that.

the drive reading the master can only read the data that fast, even if you set the writer to 16x, it will write then stop till the bufffer fills, then start writing again, emptying the buffer.

If writing on the fly(one disc to another) best set the writer to 4x. A full dvd takes about 15 mins at 4x and you will get a single constant write through the entire disc(no stopping and starting).
