Wood stove

Thinking about buying one of these but before I get a plumber in to price the fitting etc,I was wondering if anyone on here has bought one and can they recommend them?
I live in a 3 bed detached house with wood floors to the upstairs
8 rads including the 1 in sitting room where the stove will be.
Currently have oil heating and my fire has no back boiler but as I work in forestry,I have a free endless supply of firewood:)

They are excellent mate, so long as you know how to light a fire. Make sure you have plenty of limewood or similar for the logs, as well as kindling and I'd recommend a gas poker as it is the easiest way to get fires going. You need make sure the chimney is clear too and sort out a flume to connect the stove to it. Not entirely sure a plumber is the man for the job but hey try it!

P.S. If anyone in your family has breathing difficulties wouldn't recommend one, try an oil stove instead.

You dont need a plumber if its a simple install. ALthough you may need some one to sort out the chimney, or get it lined.

Theres also certain building regs involving fitting wood burners. I'm not sure if thats just on new builds or all installs.

i.e you need fixed vents into the room (either wall or floor) so the chimeny can pull the air through, so to speak.
Plus it needs to be off the floor by so many mm's. if your floor is wood there is also more regs incase a log falls out.
Theres also a reg on what material the wall is that its against.

As above, I dont know if that applies to all or just new builds. check first.

Thanks for the replies
I currently have no back boiler and no pipes where my current fire is so I`ll need a plumber to connect them up to my heating system
Might just get a wraparound boiler

l put in a Broseley Hercules 20B Multifuel Boiler Stove a couple of years back and would highly recommend them. Great heat and loads of hot water, so saves a fortune on heating oil. l fitted one of the ones you are after a year ago into a friends house in his living room fireplace and he is very happy with it. Get a plumber to fit it for you as they can be very dangerous if not fitted correctly and as long as you don't disturb a party wall between you and your neighbour if you have one, and your chimney is good order you should be fine.
