'unauthorised device' message

Hi Folks

I have been happily playing my wii which was fitted a year ago with a wiikey and have never made any changes to it. All my games have worked perfectly ever since... until today

Just got 4 back up games and all are bringing up a message when trying to load -

'error#001 unauthorised device has been detected'

What can I do...please help???

Thanks
DEEBO

You need to update the firmware on the Wiikey.

Assuming you have a PAL Wii, this can be downloaded from the Ace Store UK Support Suite for free - just burn to a disc using your chosen program to a DVD-R and run in your Wii (Your wii MUST be version 3.2e or lower else it wont load)

ImgBurn at 4x usually the best bet - does usually depend on the media though; try different speeds as people sometimes have trouble with it.

Done as you suggested folks and it has read the disk. It became visible as a gamecube disc. When I hit start on the menu the screen goes blank and I get a message on the TV saying no signal. The wii then needs reset at the mains in order to work again?? And the games still dont work after this??

What should happen when the disc is run?? Any ideas what I can be doing wrong the kids are going nuts

please help

cheers

Thats new to me...Check your frequency screen settings in the Wii settings - There are 50hz and 60hz, try both as it seems like an AV issue

Its not that either mate all checked. Its as if the disc resets the wii and it freezes then suddenly becomes unrecognisable to the tv

anyone have any other ideas??

I have re-downloaded and burnt the disc several times but the same thing every time....

Are you SURE its a WiiKey fitted? There are cowboys out there that say they fit one chip and fit a much cheaper chip instead to make even more money.
