HOW CAN I PLAY BACK-UPS ON MY PSP?

Hidden:
As this appears to be the most basic and the most frequently asked question then that’s where we'll start....

To be able to play 'back-ups' ( or ISOs) on your PSP you will first have to change the FW (FirmWare) from the official Sony FW that was on your machine when you bought it to a 'custom' one.

Custom FWs include...

2.71 SE
3.03 OE
3.40 OE
3.52 M33
3.71 M33 (This is the latest one)

The higher the number the newer (and better) the FW, the letters after it represent the team who made it.

The most popular choice at present is 3.52 M33 because it includes the Sony ISO loader which means you do not need a UMD in the drive to allow you to play back-ups.

so now you know what needs doing to play ISOs on your PSP Smile

HOW DO I DOWNGRADE MY PSP TO 1.50?

Hidden:
Here we go again, hopefully for the last time Shock

To be able to load custom FW on to your PSP you must first DOWNGRADE your PSP to Sony’s official 1.50 FW. How we do that all depends on what FW your PSP is currently running.

To check what FW your PSP is running turn it on (duh!) go to the far left menu (settings) then down to system settings then its located under system information.

IF YOUR FW IS UNDER 2.81 THIS IS FOR YOU

Hidden:

For firmwares 2.71 and below, the safest option is to upgrade your PSP to the official Sony 2.80 FW and then downgrade to 1.5

Before starting Format your memory stick (if you have any save files on there you want to keep then copy the ms0/PSP/SAVEDATA folder to your PC)

ALSO...

Make sure your PSP is fully charged before continuing and leave the PSP on charge throughout the whole process...here we go!

1 - DOWNLOAD THIS PACK

if you FW is already 2.80 then you can skip to step 5, if not you will have to upgrade to 2.80 as mentioned above by following steps 2-4

2 - Unzip the file caled EBOOT.PBP
3 - Place the EBOOT.PBP in ms0/PSP/GAME/UPDATE (if the update folder isn't there then make one - ALL IN CAPS!)
4 - Run the update from the Game menu, Once completed format your memory stick again

5 - Copy the contents of 280dg to your memory stick
6 - Rename the 1.50 update Eboot to UPDATE.PBP and copy it into the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder on your memory stick
7 - Go to the photo menu on your PSP and select HEN280 (if your PSP freezes at this point restart your psp and try again, alternatively select slideshow on the photo menu)
8 - If the screen turns red then try again, if the screen turns blue then you are ready to move on
9 - If you have a TA-082 or TA-086 motherboard then launch 2.80 idstorage changer from the game menu - IMPORTANT - IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS CONCERNING WHICH MOTHERBOARD REVISION YOU HAVE SEE THE BOTTOM OF THIS THREAD!
10 - Then launch Update X.YX from the game menu and your PSP will proceed to downgrade to firmware 1.50
11 - Welcome to 1.5!!! now see the section marked 1.5 to custom FW

If you are having trouble with this method then an alternative option is to upgrade to a higher Sony firmware and try one of the other methods below.

IF YOUR FW IS 2.81 - 3.03 AND YOU HAVE GTA: LCS THEN IT'S THIS ONE

Hidden:

!! I RECOMMEND FORMATTING THE MEMORY STICK BEFORE STARTING !!

Download This !!

Full Downgrader Kit

Then do exactly as below:-

303 HEN Noobz Downgrader Guide
------------------------------

Here is a guide for downgrading any current PSP hardware version
(TA-079 - TA-086) from firmware 2.81-3.03 to 1.50.

IMPORTANT:
The Noobz team is strongly against piracy, and we're not just
saying that to cover our butts. When you pirate games, you're
removing the incentive for game and console makers to continue
making fun things for us to play with. We are releasing this
downgrader because we believe that using your PSP to its full
potential and being able to customize it and run homebrew code
is a fair use right that should be available to everyone.
Please purchase games that you intend to play. Thanks!

Requirements
------------
In order to downgrade a 3.03 PSP you will need the following:

- Original GTA LCS (any region), which should have the 2.00 update on the disc.

******************************************************************
* WARNING, ANY DOWNGRADER HAS A CHANCE OF BRICKING A PSP. WHEN A *
* PSP IS BRICKED YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT ANYMORE. WE HAVE *
* DONE A LOT TO TRY AND MINIMISE THE RISK, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS *
* SOME LEVEL OF RISK WHICH YOU MUST ACCEPT IF YOU WANT TO *
* DOWNGRADE *
******************************************************************

Instructions
------------
Here are the steps to downgrade any 3.03 PSP to 1.50:

1 - If you have a 3.03 PSP skip to step 6

3 - If not and you have between Firmware 2.81 and 3.02 Unrar the file you downloaded and place EBOOT.PBP (official 3.03 Update) file in <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE (if you don’t have the folder UPDATE inside PSP/GAME just create a new folder called UPDATE)

4 - On the PSP, run the 3.03 update from the memory stick under the Game menu.

5 - Delete <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

6 - Unzip file 303.DG and double click the Folder MS_ROOT and copy the Folder PSP to the root of the memory stick.

7 - Unzip the 1.50 update to a temporary folder. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to
UPDATE.PBP and copy it to <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . DO NOT
OVERWRITE PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP!

8 - Load GTA LCS

9 - It should get to loading savegame, then the screen will clear to black
and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself (if
this does not happen see section below)

10 - Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to
"System Information" and it should show up as system version
303 HEN

11 - If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and
run the x.yz update

12 - If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be
prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it
can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed
without patching, if your motherboard requires it.

13 - Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask
for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to
continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).

14 - Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the
PSP, or try and restart it

15 - Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself

16 - If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x
to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the
settings for network connections into your PSP, otherwise go to
step 18

17 - Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to
restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config
that was done automatically during the downgrade.

18 - All done now Hopefully you now have a 1.50 PSP. Enjoy it responsibly.

19 - Now Download the 3.40 OE-A Firmware at the top of the Page and follow the Instructions to update your PSP to the latest Cracked Firmware

Troubleshooting
---------------
- Ensure that you have the original GTA LCS, it should have a 2.00 update
on the UMD, if it does not then it is a later version and can not be used
to downgrade.

- If GTA does not load 3.03 HEN and it loads up a save game, try making
a backup copy of all of the directories in <pspdrive>:/PSP/SAVEDATA/
before deleting them. Then try copying the contents of the 303 HEN zip
to there.

- If when trying to restore the network config using netconf backup you
find that it gives you an error on the downgraded 1.50 PSP, try adding
a temporary network config, then deleting it and run the netconf backup
again.

- If when trying to restore the network config using netconf backup you
find that it gives you an error on the downgraded 1.50 PSP, try adding
a temporary network config, then deleting it and run the netconf backup
again.

HOW TO UPGRADE FROM 1.5 TO CUSTOM FIRMWARE

Hidden:
Right, hopefully you are now on Sony’s official 1.5 FW...yay!

This means you can install custom FW and get playing those ISOs you bought off me Wink

This one is pretty darn simple...

1 - DOWNLOAD THIS

2 - Format your memory stick (if you have any save files on there you want to keep then copy the PSP/SAVEDATA folder to your PC)

3 - Hook your memory stick up to your PSP (either via USB cable or a USB card reader)

4 - Run the program and follow the on-screen instructions

Now the files are on your memory stick ready for action. You should now unplug your USB cable if you done it that way.... Before you continue make sure your PSP is fully charged.

5 - Plug in your charger and leave it on charge (even though its fully charged) until you have finished upgrading

6 - Not a necessity but i like to restore the system settings before i upgrade because i forget what things i have messed with. (can be done under system settings on your PSP)

7 - Good to go! Run the creator on your PSP from under the game menu

8 - leave it be until its finished unless it prompts you to press a button... don’t do anything silly like pull the memory stick out while its upgrading or your PSP will be shafted

9 - Run the M33 update from the game menu

10 - you should be on 3.52 M33 now Smile If you format your memory stick in your PSP it will create all the required folders for playing games/films etc... so do it!

**************************************************************

IF YOUR FIRMWARE IS 2.81 OR HIGHER AND YOU CAN'T GET HOLD OF EITHER OF THOSE 2 GAMES
THEN YOU CAN ALSO DOWNGRADE USING PANDORAS BATTERY...

AVAILABLE UPDATES FOR 3.52 M33 FW

Hidden:

Every now and again an update will be released for custom firmwares that fixes a few bugs and sometimes adds new features. There is now a fourth update available for 3.52 M33

NOTE: Patches are accumaltive, meaning all the update from the 1st patch are included in the second one. you only ever have to apply the latest patch

[http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8SBPABU6]DOWNLOAD IT HERE[/url]

Password: _DANIEL_SERAFIN_BRICKED_HIS_ASS_BY_M33_

the patch in the above link has been tried and tested Smile

From M33s English Forum:

IMPORTANT: agree with LICENSE.TXT conditions before installing the program.

Changes in M33-4 (mainly bugfix)

- Fixed the bug that caused CRC error when writing to flash usb in the XMB. Now writing
is OK.
- Added the new speeds to vshmenu and core, because we forgot in recovery.

AS we didnn't want to release a new update without something new, we worked in making
3.10/3.11 to work with popsloader, and that's it, the new popsloader plugins supports them.
Instruction for 3.10 and 3.11 are same as 3.30: you need pops.prx, popsman.prx and pafmini.prx
with the correct names in popsloader directory. And remember that savedata of 3.10-3.30 are incompatible
with those of 3.40+. We'll research if a solution for this is possible.

Team M33

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for yankee paranoids, a little word about the "brickers" issue.
We repeat it again: THERE IS NO MALICIOUS CODE inside M33.
Some of the files of this update are protected by encryption schemes to protect ourselves
from that page that annoys homebrew developers.
The keys for the decryption: the own update file.
So if the file is changed, the decrypted data is not the original one, and this causes the
wrong data to be written. There is no way you can call this malicious code as there is no explicit
code to brick nothing, it is the corruption of the update what actually causes the bad decrypted
data to be written.

Anyways in this update we check if decrypted data is wrong and in that case we write a recovery
warning the user what happened. It will activate usb, and it will allow you to execute a recovery
eboot.pbp... in a curious path ("ms0:/PSP/GAME/PS3NEWS_ARE_STEALERS_I_AM_NOT_GONNA_VISIT_THEM/EBOOT.PBP")
which is not at sight of an hex editor

If you visited ps3news and bricked in last release, then blame his administrator.
He is the one that modified the files and had them in the server for lots of hours
knowing the consequences.

As this person doesn't care about publishing homebrew coders personal info because he thinks he's
funny and hursh doing that, we dont think he will mind either that we "leak" his data
After all is nformation that can be obtained publically.

Administrator of ps3news: Daniel Serafin, owner of old ps2ownz domain (now he uses a reg. proxy),
and name to which advertisements are CURRENTLY payed in ps3news. (it could be either him or his father)
Location (maybe old): 117 Yorktown Dr Webster, NY 14580 (USA)

Unrar the M33-1234.rar file and find the M33update4 folder, copy that to ms0/PSP/GAME150

then run it from the game menu on your PSP..... you can also copy the seplugins folder to the root of your PSP but if your reading this guide chances are you will never use it.

....sorted Thunbs Up

HOW TO UPDATE TO 3.71 M33 FIRMWARE

Hidden:

NOTE: In order to install this Firmware your PSP must first be on a minimum of 3.52 M33 (with update patch 3 or 4), use the section above to do this.

- Download the 3.71 M33 update package here: http://rapidshare.com/files/58451331/RealaT_370M33_Easy_Install.rar.html
(Note: despite it being called 3.70 installer, it is actually 3.71.... stupid me gave it the wrong name when i uploaded it!!)

- Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME (Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that.)

- If you are in the fat psp, make sure you have configured the psp to run the game folder in the 3.52 kernel.

- Execute the program, it requires 78% of battery. If you have idstorage corrupted due to a downgrader, the program
will ask you to correct it automatically so the update can continue.

- Press X, and the Sony updater will begin. Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.71 M33 Smile

- When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step
shutting down the psp by yourself, or you'll end with a brick.

- You should be now in 3.71 M33

HOW TO PLAY GAMES/FILMS ON CUSTOM FW's

Hidden:
PSP GAMES

PSP games will either come as .ISO or .CSO, a .CSO file is a compressed ISO - it does not need decompressing before you can play it.
On your memory stick there should be a folder named ISO on the root (ms0) of your memory stick. The ISO/CSO files go in there.

If you copy the folder containing the .ISO file onto your memory stick it will show up as corrupted data
EG.
ms0/ISO/TEKKEN/tekken.iso - WRONG
ms0/ISO/tekken.iso - RIGHT

PS1 GAMES CONVERTED FOR PSP

PS1 games can be played without the need for a separate loader on the new custom firmwares but are setup in a slightly different fashion than PSP games.
A PS1 game will consist of an EBOOT file and sometimes a KEYS file depending on how it was ripped. The KEYS.BIN file is not necessary on newer custom firmwares.
Both files need to be copied to ms0:/PSP/GAME but unlike PSP games these must be kept in a folder (but only 1 folder or it will show as corrupted data).

EG.

ms0/PSP/GAME/eboot.phb keys.bin - WRONG
ms0/PSP/GAME/CRASHBANDICOOT/SLES1003/eboot.phb keys.bin - WRONG
ms0/PSP/GAME/CRASHBANDICOOT/eboot.phb keys.bin - RIGHT

PSP FILMS (MPEG-4)

Another advantage of custom FWs is their ability to play films without having to rename them to a compliant filename ( e.g. mnv10002).
You will notice a VIDEO folder on the root of your memory stick, just put the MPEG-4 files in there and away you go Smile

HOMEBREW

No, I’m not talking about the super strength ale brewing in your airing cupboard, the term homebrew relates to programs written by Joe public.
These include Emulators...SNES, Megadrive, C64.... You name it and more often than not there has been a program written that will allow you to play classics from that system....SWEET!

There should be instructions provide with these when you buy/download them so i wont go any further than to tell you they go in the ms0/PSP/GAME150 folder on your memory stick

There is also homebrew that will turn your PSP into a GPS device, a remote control, one that allows you to view your PSP on your PSP etc. etc. Google is your friend when homebrew is concerned as most of it is legal.

MUSIC

Never bothered even trying to put music on my PSP but i imagine it goes in the folder aptly named MUSIC on the root of your memory stick Razz

GENERAL FAQ

Hidden:

This section could fill up a thread of its own, so questions will be added when they appear on the forum

ERROR CODE REFERENCE PAGE

RECOVERY MODE

The M33 FW has a feature called recovery mode, this allows you to fix a semi-bricked PSP and alter some of the PSP’s settings/functions.

To enter recovery mode hold down the R button whilst powering up your PSP (will not work from sleep/standby mode)

THIS GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED

This seems to be the most common error..

3.52 M33 users - You need to enter recovery mode and make sure this setting is set:

Configuration ----> UMD Mode = Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-

3.xxOE users - Make sure you have an original UMD game in the drive and in the recovery menu the option USE NO-UMD is DISABLED.

Where do I put my ISO/CSO files?

ISO and CSO files are placed in the ISO folder on your memory stick (if you don't have one try formatting your memory stick on your PSP)

I have a game that is eboot.pbp and keys.bin. What is it and how do I play it?

That is a PS1 game that has been converted for use on PSP. To install it on your PSP you need to put both files into a folder of your choosing and then copy the entire folder into the GAME folder on your memory stick.

Homebrew and emulators don't work since I upgraded to custom firmware from 1.50
-You need to copy homebrew software into the GAME150 folder instead of the GAME folder with newer custom firmwares

My ISO is running sluggish, how can I make it run smoother?

There are several things you can try...

  • If it is a CSO file then try decompressing it to ISO
  • Try increasing the clock speed to 266 300 or 333mhz using the recovery menu
  • Try formatting your memory stick to FAT16 instead of FAT32 - open control panel>admin tools>computer management>storage>disk management and do it in there.

How many games can I fit on a 512mb/1Gb/2Gb/4Gb memory stick?]
How long is a piece of string? Seriously, games can vary in size from 10mb to 1.8gb so there's no real way to answer that question.

I downloaded the latest game but it doesnt work on my 3.10 OE-A FW, WHY?

New releases require newer firmware, the only way you will be able to play your new game is by upgrading to the latest FW. see the UPGRADING CUSTOM FIRMWARE section

This is one awesome piece of kit to own!

  • It allows you to unbrick or downgrade ANY fat PSP to 1.5 firmware.
  • It is also the key to installing custom firmware on a slim PSP (with a slight bit of modification)

HOW TO CREATE A PANDORAS BATTERY AND MAGIC MEMORY STICK

Hidden:

For this procedure an original sony battery (1800ma from a fat PSP) is preferable. I have tried and failed when using a cheap one from dealextreme.
Your memory stick must also be at least 128mb. SVP sell a 128mb for a fiver if your after a spare.

NOTE: You MUST have a PSP on custom firmware in order to run the homebrew that creates a Pandoras battery

Download this first

  1. Using the USB connection, connect the PSP with the memory card inserted.
  2. Format the memory stick using Windows Explorer.
  3. Extract the contents of the pandora.zip file to c:\pandora
  4. Open a DOS prompt (Start -> Run -> type CMD -> <PRESS ENTER> )
  5. Type ‘cd c:\pandora\mspformat’ <PRESS ENTER>
  6. Type mspformat <drive letter> (in my case K) – ‘mspformat K’ <PRESS ENTER>
  7. Stop the USB connection, and unplug the memory stick (you can leave the cable connected). Seriously REMOVE THE STICK FROM THE PSP
  8. Plug the memory stick back in and reconnect to Windows
  9. Manually make the directory on the memory stick for PSP\GAME and PSP\GAME150 (GAME150 for custom firmwares like OE)
  10. Copy the two directories for each application into either the GAME or GAME150 directory (for me it was GAME150)
  11. Copy the UPDATE.PBP file from the pack you downloaded and store it on the root of the MS.
  12. Stop the USB connection and go to the application ‘Pandora’s Battery Firm. Installer’ under the game menu....RUN IT!
  13. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
  14. Once completed, start the USB connection to the Windows PC.
  15. Copy the file msipl.bin from the MS to c:\pandora\msinst
  16. from a DOS prompt (referenced above) do the following
  17. type ‘cd c:\pandora\msinst’ <PRESS ENTER>
  18. type ‘msinst K msipl.bin’ <PRESS ENTER>
  19. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
  20. Under the game menu run the application ‘Pandora’s Battery Creator’ – First choose the option to back up the eeprom of the battery incase something should go wrong (its only 1k, you've got plenty of space)
  21. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND ALSO REMOVE AND RE-INSERT THE (NOW MODDED) BATTERY. POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
  22. Under the game menu run the application ‘Pandora’s Battery Creator’ again, this time choose the option to change the battery into a service mode one (aka pandoras battery)
  23. ALL DONE!

In order for the system to actually work, POWER THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY OFF and unplug the battery and MS, plug them back in, and power on, voila you'll see the restore screen.

HOW TO MODIFY THE PANDORAS BATTERY TO UPGRADE A SLIM PSP

Hidden:

PSP slim, PSP lite, PSP 2000...Call it what you will but at present there is only one way of upgrading it to custom firmware....the mighty Pandoras battery!

Dont bother just sticking the pandora kit straight in your new shiny PSP slim cos it wont work! First we will have to make a slight modification to the memory stick, again requiring a PSP on custom FW.

NOTE: If you dont own or cant get hold of a PSP on custom firmware I (Andyman) offer a rental service of my kit, PM me for details or see my post in the PSP section.

When you downloaded the pack to initially create the pandora kit you will have noticed the .zip file entitled SLIM.ZIP , this guide refers to the contents of it.

  1. *Important* after creating the Pandora Battery and magic memory stick, leave it alone, do not delete any files, run any apps, you need these as the M33 Installer modifies the Memory Stick Pro Duo files to work on a Slim PSP instead of installing 1.50 like on a regular bricked PSP and such

  2. Put your magic memory stick in your PSP and the power lead (no battery), then switch it on. Now put your pandora battery in.

  3. Copy the pandora_slim and pandora_slim% from the pack into the GAME folder if you are using a 1.50 PSP or GAME150 if you are using any CF that is set to the 1.50 Kernel

  4. Copy the 340.PBP and 350.PBP updates into the pandora_slim folder

  5. Now that you have those folders/Updates in place, exit USB Mode and then go to the Game icon in the XMB of the PSP

  6. Select Pandora Slim PSP Installer this time around and once in the app, press X to start the programs job, it will write the files for you and will exit for you, so please wait.

  7. Once done with the Slim installer remove the battery and the memory stick, now comes to time to flash M33 to your new PSP Slim

  8. Put the magic memory stick in your PSP Slim and connect the power cable to the PSP, and then put the Pandora Battery into the PSP Slim

  9. The PSP Slim will turn on by itself, do not be alarmed when you see a blank screen, thats normal since the 1.50 Kernel does not work on the PSP Slim as of this time (Hope this comes soon)

  10. After doing the above step, simply press X to Install M33, but like said before, the screen will be blank all the time of the install, but you can hint of what is going on by looking at the light for the memory stick blinking

  11. It only takes a few seconds to install M33 because it only has to install a few PRX's to make the 3.60 into a 3.60 M33 version, so be patient (like look the other way for a few seconds, knock one out, have a beer etc, you get the idea )

  12. After it installs the 3.60 M33, the PSP will shut off for you (backlight will turn off etc), now take out the Pandora Battery and put your regular PSP Slim battery in and turn it on

  13. You are now on 3.60 M33....Minted! Smile

Next you can update to the latest firmware, 3.71 at present, Please see the Slim psp section for details!

I have succesfully downgraded to 1.50

I am now trying to do

HOW TO UPGRADE A CUSTOM FIRMWARE

I downloaded the file ran the app select my psp drive.

On my psp I now have a new folder F:\PSP\GAME150\M33UPDATE_352\EBOOT.PBP

I disconnect my usb lead when I go to the memory card on the psp it tells me there is no game data?

According to the readme file in the zip file it says I need to run kxploitpatcher but I can find that/

What am I doing wrong?

Scap th eabove I got it working.

Now trying to create a pandoras battery.

Copied both folders from battery and installer folders into PSP\Game
and the UPDATE.PBP to the root of MS

Stopped USB connection gone to memory stick on psp and I have the following
Pandora’s Battery Firm. Installer
corrupt Data
Pandora’s Battery Creator
Corrupt data

When I run Pandora’s Battery Firm. Installer I get
'The game could not be started.
(8002014C)

When I tried to run the mspformat I get a write error so I just formated it threw windows. The readme in the downloads says '- Format the Memory Stick using any utility.'

So that method should be ok.

So I dont know what I am doing wrong here, Gonna try a different MS see if that helps.

ok tried another MS and get same thing. write error when trying to format and game cannot be started.

Do I need a UMD in the drive when doing this?

Also tried doing the despaetar thingy but get stuck at
Download 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71 update eboots and copy them to ms root with
150.PBP, 340.PBP and 371.PBP names

Not sure where to download and whether it means original o hacked? Would assume hacked but you never know...

MS I have tried are sandisk 512MB and Sony 1GB (Genuine too as it came with my SE fone)

HOW TO UPDATE TO 3.80 M33 FIRMWARE

Hidden:

NOTE: In order to install this Firmware your PSP must first be on a minimum of 3.52 M33 (with update patch 3 or 4), use the section above to do this.

- Download the 3.80 M33 update package here: http://dax.st/380_m33.rar
- Download the 3.80 update eboot here http://do01b.psp.update.playstation.org/update/psp/image/ob/2007_1218_923297bb6c6aead603d745e9e724fea0/EBOOT.PBP and rename it as 3.80.PBP and place it in the update folder.

Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.80 M33 Smile

- When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step
shutting down the psp by yourself, or you'll end with a brick.

- You should be now in 3.80 M33

Got an ISO working but still need the demo disk to play it.
I thought 3.52 m33 did not need demo disk ?
