hello if i buy a pioneer blu ray dvd writer will the back up i make of my blu ray discs play on my ps3 thanks

they should do mate, but you will have to make sure that you use the right software to decode them first. I think that anydvd have a hd version of their software that enables you to rip and burn blu ray discs. The backups should be fine on your ps3 as the PS3 plays most disc types that have just the blu ray files on. Dual layer dvd's work with blu ray files on but u have to compress the files so they fit, which usually takes about 24 hours.
