PS2 online solved with backup games

hi all

i saw this thread on another forum and tried it formyself and it works.

I've talked to many about the Ids and it seems that Gadget Freak hit it on the head a while back . . .

The first three bytes are the id that's authenticated. (there's like 16 million possibilities)

The fourth byte is the region byte.

The fifth is NOT authenticated, it can be anything. It seems that all the games of a specific title carry the same last byte. However other games from the same company can also carry the same last byte. What it is and specifically what it's used for is not really clear right now.

Now, what does all this mean? It means you can just use ANY valid ID in ANY software and it'll run. To be "more correct" you could use the first four bytes of a valid id and then the byte that's common for that title for the ending byte. It's not currently necessary, but that byte is there for a reason so it's prudent to use it. No need to hunt for ids if you already have a valid id! (though if you have a correct valid id for the particular title you are interested in then it's probably a good idea to use it)

I imagine the id is put to some sort of test to see if it's a valid id or not (i.e. a mathmatical algorithm of some sort), and there are something like 16 million possibilities, but I have heard that some have had success just guessing at ids and it doesn't seem to take them long to find one -> and once they find one then it's good for any game.

i downloaded the software and read the Disc ID eg.

on my orignal disc of twisted metal black online the disc id was
for example

02.32.00.40.44 (not real id)

then i copied syphon filter wich was

C5.8B.01.40.D4 (not real id)

Then i rewrote the id from twisted metal black onto the Syphon filter game,
but leaving the orginal last 2 digitd the same. eg.

02.32.00.40.D4 (xx.xx.xx.40.D4)

that way as long i do not play twisted metal black as the same time as syphon filter. the DNAS will not fail.

i have tried it on these games and they all work, all past the DNAS and am able to play online.

Twisted Metal Black Online
Syphon Filter 2 - Omega strain
Destruction Derby Arenas

all work ok

if you need any help please pm me and i will help you out.

but please check this site out which will explain on how to obtain the id and how to change the id before you copy the game.

http://www.******.com/on-line.html

and i have a chipped playstaion 2 with the messiah chip installed
which i do not disable when i want to play.

with those last 3 digits peoples can create there own Disc IDs for the other 2 missing digits, because it uses a hexdecimal number between 0 and F which can be generix (thats the online key for every seperate user) the other 3 digit sets which we give around are region and game identification.... If you post your last 3 digit sets around you wont risk of getting banned by $ony because they dont have your full DNA$ Disc ID, and they are not able to ban you by those last 3 digits because then it would ban all the players which own that game

So peoples post your Disc IDs like this:

SLES/SLUS/SLPS_012.34
(Size = 00000.00 bytes)
Disc ID = XX XX 01 23 45

So in theory, you could get the DNAS off one of your non-online games (original copy), impliment the same code on every backup and have no problems as long as no one else is using ur DNAS code at the same time, is this correct, or does the DNAS have to be off an online game?

the DNAS needs to be off an online game, i have not tried it on a non online game yet, i will try and see if it will work,

as i stated on my thread i am using the code from twisted metal black online which is an orignal game and i have patched the same code onto syphon filter and splinter cell, destruction derby arena, and they all work fine, its easy to rent a game and copy your orignal code from your orignal game onto it and it will work fine.

i only have 1 psx2 and the there is no chance of any 2 online games been played the same time, so i will not get banned, and do not lend any of these game out. if sony detects 2 people playing the code game at the same time both of you will be banned.

Thanks for clearing that up nitromax Razz . Im gonna go out and buy the network adapter hardware arena combo, or the adapter with a 2nd hand Tony hawks 3 (online) n get the code. Would be interesting to see if the dnas works with non-online games though.

Cheers

SSX3 and SOCOM 1 both work using this technique

Nice one nitro this works a treat.
One problem i did have that i couldnt work out was that for some reason when we used one of our original socom 1 discs the id we got from it using the disc id utility just wouldnt work.

First original disc id i got was from my original socom 1 disc and that worked fine so not sure why on the other original socom 1 disc it just wouldnt work.

Instead i used one from my original firewarrior disc which is working sweet.

We have 2 ps2 online in case your wondering why i needed 2 different disc id's to use.

Games i have tested your method and that work are:
Tom clanceys rainbow six 3
Tom clanceys splinter cell
socom 1 and 2
dd arena
syphon filter omega

I will do more later.

Good posting nitro!

thats strange all the game si have burnt worked ok,

is it a pal game, but if you need to use both of the games at the same time try and burn a Dnas id from another game onto scom that way you will be able to use both of them, as long you leave the last 2 id code the same.

cheers

by the way do not use backup game to get the Dnas code as it will give you false code you need an orignal game and obtain the code for this to work.

Just to make it clearer we have 2 original copies of socom 1 i used one of them to get my disc id i.e (**/**/**) leaving (**/**)the last digits to be determined by whatever online game i am going to patch.
This worked 1st time 100% with all games i have patched so far.

Now with the second original disc of socom 1 had i used the same method but for whatever reason it did not like the id i was getting from it, i resolved this by using my original copy of firewarrior instead.

So now all i do is use the id i got from my socom 1 original to patch all my games and then the id i got from firewarrior to patch all the games for the other playstaion 2. (2 consoles in my house)

This way we both can go online at the same time playing the same game.
All we do is make sure we write what game the id has come from and keep them seperate to each other so there's no risk of using the same id at the same time.

Another point is when i get the iso onto the pc i patch with one lot of the id's then burn to disc,
then unpatch the iso and repatch it with the other lot of id's then burn that to disc.
This saves time on having to rip the iso more than once.

Well chuffed with this and no more having to buy 2 copies of the same game to get online.

I used the DNAS off my original Ghost Recon: Jungle storm and just used the whole code when patching ssx3, thps3 , thug and socom 1, I didn't do anything to the last four digits, just put in the complete DNAS. Do the last four need to be altered cause ive had no probs so far?

Btw nitromax add ssx3 tony hawks 3 and underground to ur list

hi all

from what i found out is that the last 2 digits of the code i.e

**.**.**.40.4d

the 40 is the region code and i believe that 40 is for pal or UK.

4D is the manufacture code. if it was made by UBISOFT all the games will have this code. and different manufacturers use different codes.

as long the first 3 digits are from a original game they will pass the DNAS
the DNAS only looks at the the first 3 digits, i believe.

i still cant figure out why you socom did not work and the other did. there is another program that allows you to patch the DNAS code, if this one does not work.

i am using imagepatcher 1.4 but the other program is Disc ID Insertor V2.01

if one does not work try the other i have both so pm me if anyone requires it.

further more i have good news for people who have been banned on psx2 playing on-line, there is a program that allows you the change the psx2 id and the network card id as well which will allow you to go on line.

when you run the DNAS code checker 3 line are resulted.

DNAS
MODEL ID
GU ID

model id is the id of the psx2
GU ID is the id of your network card, when you get banned both these id are banned as well. so getting a new psx2 will not work if you are using the same network adapter.

well this program allows you to change it.

i found this on another forum

"In other site NEWS, we'd like to report that testing was completed
successfully a few weeks back on the PS2 Console ID Changer utility.
For those wondering, it's based on a slightly different calculation than
we originally suspected... more specifics to come in future updates. Wink

One thing we can let visitors know for sure, is that it works 100%
to get on-line, for example, with a PAL PS2 connecting to a USA game
server without any more region errors! Needless to say, the utility also
allows previously 'banned' PS2 consoles to work perfectly on-line again.

It's important to NOTE that when using the Console ID Changer
you must re-set up your Network Adapter Configuration File after you
change the IDs... or it won't work until you do. Even more important,
end-users should NOTE that (as with ALL hardware flashing) each time
you modify the IDs you run the risk of corrupting data which could, in
the event of a power outage (for example), render your PS2 useless for
on-line play.

Finally, there is NO ETA for the utility's release yet unfortunately.
Perhaps someone else will release their own soon, but for now all we
can suggest to end-users is to contact your favorite PS2 mod-chip and
accessory shop and suggest they SPONSOR US to assist paying those
involved in the related work behind the scene to release this cool app! "
