Possible airlock in radiator system

Hi, I have an enclosed radiator system, I thaink I have an airlock in the system (one rad (both the inlet and outlet pipe are cold), and another luke warm rad, with a cold outlet pipe)

Both rads are full with water

Is there any way of getting rid of these without draining the system?

there are a couple of ways mate, how did this come about? has it just happened or have you changed something on the system? ie removed a rad etc.?

and by enclosed do you mean that its pressurised? there should be a little pressure gauge by the boiler and you top it up via an inlet valve (normally located below the boiler) as apposed to having a tank in the loft?

I would imagine it came about when I replace my radiator in my bathroom, and yes mate, the system is pressurised

rad probs

normally you have to top up pressure to say 1-2 bar then run heating going around the rads slightly losing to bleeding valve on the end of the rad until all the air comes out and water starts to leak out do this to all checking pressure doesn't fall below 1 bar if it does just top up again there should be a valve below boiler to top up m8 if I'm wrong i'm sorry are new resident chief heating engineer can help

Pressure is just above 1 bar mate, do I have to increase the pressure to try and 'force' the air out?

Thanks

what you need to do m8 is open the bleed valve on the top side of rad, this will let air out and the pressure will drop so let the air out until water comes out and keep topping your pressure to 1 bar

you wont be able to force the air out, if you say that there full already then the best thing you can do is to turn off the valves on all the other radiators but just leave the valves open on the one which is cold. put heating on, and it may force the air round into that rad, (which you can then bleed off) if it comes through slowly but steadily then it may just be crud in the system which is reducing flow.
the water will always take the easyest route so may be bypassing that leg altogether.
let me know what happens when you turn the others off.

Shut all valves apart from the 2 rads in question. Got one heating up OK, shut the valves for that, but the other one ain't getting any warmer, and I cannot hear the air moving into it.

Any suggestions

Thanks

make sure both your valves left and right are fully open and then open bleed valve this should push out any air and allow the water in

Am doing that now, just have to catch the water with a bowl as the rad is full of cold water, but the inlet pipe is getting slightly warm

Slightly bigger problem now, since releasing the water from my cold rad and repressurising the system and open all of the other valves in the house, NONE of my radiators are on! Absolutely none of the inlet or outlet pipes are warm!

What have I done?

How do I get rid?

Thanks

what you could try is to turn them all off put the heating on and then open the furthest rad away wait for this to warm and then start to open the others 1 at a time, hope this helps
