Hi everybody!

I would be interested to buy some Datasafe Gen3, but it seems that they are only accessible in UK .. Are they only designed for UK market ? I am in Canada, but I can order in USA.

If everybody can gives me informations about thoses, if an USA or Canada store have them, please let me know!

Thanx! Laughing

Have only had my A03 a couple of weeks now. Datasafe Gen 3 all the way for me at x1 speed anyway. Paid £50 for a box of 10 Verbs before trying these. How daft was that......

Got 2 go with the flow and say that datasafe gen3s r top disc 4 me.
Like 2 try out new movie backups first on princo dvd-rw - cuts down on coasters. Works with PS2 on movies but havn't tried them on PS2 games

Best DVD-Rs for PS2

I have found the Datasafe Gen 3 are the best. These work prefectly in my PS2, LG3350 DVD Player and Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-2500.

I've tried the Datasafe Gen 3 silvertop, whitetop and new 2x yellowtop.
These are all great discs Smile

I've found the Princo DVD-RWs quite good too. These will not work in my early PS2 but do work in my LG3350 DVD player and Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-2500.

The Bulkpaq DVD-Rs are not very good discs Sad I find the odd one will work in my DVD player but most don't and none work in the PS2.
I just use the Bulkpaq DVD-Rs for data now. I've found that if I write them with Nero as a ISO/UDF format, then I can read them in my Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-2500 (PC DVD-ROM Drive).

Cheers

DVD Media

Sorry, I can not vote as the ones I use are not on the list.

I get 4.7GB Choice 2X compatible from 121cdr.co.uk

These are £0.93 each, and play great with films on, in a PS2 and the majority of DVD players. As they are 2x, it only takes 30 mins to write to.

Used about 20 upto now, and had no plroblems with any.

Funny, I just bought a batch of Datasafe Gen-3's for my PS2 work, and a batch of bulkpaq for general backup and storage of crap. But I thought I'd try one in the PS2 just in case... Now successfully burned 3 DVD videos and 2 games onto bulkpaq and they all work in the PS2... So overall I am a happy bunny! Very Happy

I bought 75pcs of choice 2x. First dvd-r I burned 2x speed PS2 backup and it didn't work on my friend PS2, on my ps2 it loaded after waiting about minute.

Second dvd-r I burned dvd-svcd at 1x and ps2 can't read that at all.
On my Philips 622 dvd player it plays fine to about half a way and then starts chopping..
In my friends sony it seemed to play ok.

I have to try if in another spindle is better..

Re burning

What software do you use to burn your dvd's that dont work?

I use Nero, and have never had a failed one, they work in the PS2 unchipped, and the majority of DVD players.

I do a straight copy, which keeps the AC3 sound, so they even play the correct sound.

In Nero, I choose the following.
1, DVd compilation
2, Use the botton tab, DVD ISO/UDF
3, On the ISO tab, De select everything apart for the top box, make sure Joilet is Unticked, If it is ticked, then the DVD will not work in the PS2.
4, Burn at 2x speed.

If you still have a problem, let me know, I am on holiday at mo in Ibiza, so when I get home, I can do a little Tut for you. I put the dvd on to the Choice disc's from 121 cdr, and they play great.
