Pointer hand not showing.

I have just tried to start my Wii up after having it chipped, and having probs with synching the remote.
( I should stress I had this problem shortly before sending console away, so It isn't the chipping. Suddenly the problem sorted itself before.)

Followed all the steps to synch, I'm on about the 15th attempt Sad

The 4 blue lights appear, then only the first one - suggesting it's synched as the only (or first) handset ok, but the hand doesn't appear.
If I press the 'home' button, screen changes - so that rules out the receiver bar I assume (?)

Can any one help me before my little 'un screams the entire street down?

It doen't rule out the sensor bar. All the bar is for it the pointer, The wiimote uses bluetooth to communicate with the wii for all button presses. Is the sensor bar sceurely plugged into the back of the wii and placed under/over the TV? All the sensor bar is, is some leds that the wiimote picks up and uses to calculate where the tv is.

You could use anything that emits light to see whether the sensor bar is working.

A couple of torches about 8-10 inches apart facing the user, or even a couple of candles would do.

If it works fine this way then it could be the sensor bar. Can you try one from another wii?
