Mac, the cheap way in
There seems to be a bit of interest from peeps with regards to getting into the whole mac scene but (understandably) worries about the price involved, it's a lot of dough to throw away in a folly (although I'm not sure it would be a folly)
I just thought peeps looking for a cheap way in might wanna consider a refurb as these are pretty cheap, when you can't guaruntee a win on eBay try this
h**p://www.cancomuk.com
they've got a shop in kensington i know of but i think they do most their business mail order, they carry a lot of refurb/ex-display models so it won't dent your pocket so much, then when you're ready to take the plunge trade up
I'm sure there are a fair few cheap places for mac but this seems the most reasonable i've come across, check it out _________________ I-i-i-i-i-it's Me - Hooray!

Warranted refurbs are good for a discount if someone's buying a Mac..but if someone's looking to get into Macs cheaply, £200 off a retail of say £1000-1200 is still alot of $$$...
Another way for discounting new stuff is the Educational Rates...Apple do offer discounted rates on their gear, and some of the best rates are to be had on bundled software, 3rdparty or otherwise...
Maybe another way to look at it would be to go in at MacMini level, new or 2nd-hand...or even a previous gen G4 or G3 Tower..or G3 iMac...which can be picked up v cheaply on ebay etc...albeit you have to hunt if you want some warranty with it..!
This will let you run OS 10.4 and get to grips with socalled 'world's best' OS without much outlay...
nice one mramazing - a TopTips thread this, Blade...?
(edited to make more sense..!)
