Lionhead rabbit toilet issues

Hi,

I hope someone here can help. We have a male Lionhead rabbit who will be about 7 months old now. He lives in a hutch with a female guinnea pig and they both seemed okay. Recently as the weather has gotten colder we've moved the hutch inside the garage and they both seemed quite happy. It appears now though, that the rabbit has started peeing up the sides of the hutch, about 8"-10" high. Is this normal, it seems to be getting worse and the hutch absolutely stinks, even though we cleaned and disinfected it on Saturday.

Any ideas, should we get them a bigger hutch?

Mark

I dont know how you can stop them or whats wrong but i bought some kitchen counter surface sticky stuff - i.e. like laminate but of a kitchen counter colour etc and put that on the wood where mine use the toilet a lot. Then you just throw out the sawdust, wipe down the sides and your done.

Now they are inside do you spend just as much time with them> I know when mine went outside they ignored me for a bit and crapped everywhere for a bit but settled down after a few weeks. Might just be that they are not used to it.

They still get as much attention as they used to. I think it is a problem with him reaching sexual maturity. They both used to use the same corner, but now it is sprayed on every single wall. He is going in for the snip a week on Friday. Hopefully that'll cure it.

The snip has cured him, and tamed him quite a bit. Thanks for the link, I'll have a good look at that,
