check your cover m8 i thinkyou will find it won't cover leaving it on a bus. What you could do is report it as a theft and say somebody lifted your bag on the bus you never noticed till you went to get off it was gone, police will give you a crime ref number which you give to insurance then they will honour the claim

You may have to go to the local police station and report it lost\stolen, they should then give you a incident report number which your Insurance may ask for.

not all buses have cctv and if th bus you were on does then he ho they will seewho lifted it, being realistic though thieves can take the wallet or purse from your pocket and never be seen, they could have slipped it into a carrier bag etc and it would never be seen on any camera

Sorry to hear about your recent bad luck. Check your insurance to see if you have personal posessions all risk cover. If you have you're covered. I pay about £50 a year extra for about £2500 cover. You never know. As tkd101 said whatever happens firstly report to police.
Years ago i was out fishing and left an expensive pole leaning against the boot. Loaded everything onto roof rack and forgot about the pole until i got home. Was covered ok but needed the police ref (incase someone handed it in!!!)
Good luck m8

Yeah but only if your insurance policy covers you for loss outside the home. You normally have to pay an extra premium for this.

Are you a student? I had this insurre. My bike WAS insured for outside and i serously struggled in a claim. I have also seen since, they seem very reluctant to pay out.

That looks like thier standard blurb to me. I had extra papers for certain items i listed and thier individual cover.

Good luck

Your not covered for leaving on a bus mate. The only way you will get it is by saying it was stolen while you was on the bus.
What is not covered
We will not pay:-
a) the equivalent of the first 10% of the cost of each and every claim
subject to a minimum amount of £25 and a maximum amount of
£150
b) for any property not belonging to You or for which You are not
legally liable
c) theft from a parked motor vehicle, except as described in “Section 1 -
Cover for Your Contents - What is covered - Theft or attempted theft
part (b) – Theft during transit at the beginning and end of a College
Term”
d) loss of or damage to Your Contents if left Unattended at any time in a
place which has public access
e) for any of the following:
• Loss of or damage to sports equipment or sports clothing whilst in
the course of play or use
• Breakage of skins and strings or scratching, bruising or denting of
musical instruments
• Breakage of glass (other than lenses) or article of a brittle nature
(other than jewellery), scratching or denting
• Damage to guns by internal explosion
• Money
• Loss or damage to any item not defined as Contents
f) any claim for jewellery valued at £600 or more unless a receipt or
valuation can be provided for that item (see General Conditions 5.
Evidence of Value page 10)
g) Pedal Cycles and their accessories
h) Contact lenses or dentures
i) Mobile Phones
j) Vehicles and Craft
section d is the bit that relates to it.
