don't see a great deal of benefit in buying this cable as it only supports upto 480p which is classed as EDTV and a standard PAL signal outputs at 576 lines. The only benefit you may get is a faster frame rate, but the also depends on the game. If you want HD you need either 720p, 1080i or 1080p none of which the wii supports.
There is some talk that there could be a system update to include HD support in the future as the chipset is more than capable. However it remains to be seen whether the Wii can push enough data around to make this worthwhile. _________________ My Refs ->

I have the official cable - it's worth a tenner (though not the £20 i spent!)-- the colours are more vibrant and edges are clearer, though more jagged, its more akin to the difference between composite and s-video.
I'd say if you have a big tv and want crisper textures and more vibrant colours then go for it, but dont expect a huge leap in quality, and accept the fact that if you take a away the blurriness of a composite signal, you also show up the jaggy edges.
The standard scart is not RGB wired (Nintendo have always done this ripoff). If you have to buy and overpriced official RGB lead you might as well get the component if your TV has the input.
Of course it isn't RGB, it's a composite cable with a Scart adaptor? be glad they no longer include an RF Cable as standard _________________ I only buy backups of software I own. I do not sell backups at all

Sony and Microsoft also do this, no need to single Nintendo out
I disagree as Nintendo will not license to third party manufacturers. Xbox gold plated rgb cable £5. Official Nintendo Gamecube cable £20 (well I got it second hand but that is RRP).
