Need help please.

My nephew has a 40GB iPod with no leads (I know how it sounds, but he is too feeble to mug anyone).

I intend to stock it with music for him using my PC, but he has to be able to charge it up away from the PC.


I mistakenly bought a firewire thinking it was USB. This fits the iPod, but not my PC unless I buy a firewire card.

What is the cheapest way to allow me to upload music, and him to recharge the iPod? Remember, the only lead I have is the firewire to iPod lead.

I was told recently that an iPod will not accept mp3 tracks downloaded from music sharing networks... tell me it ain't true?
