have an unusal problem which i am having real problems trying to solve !!
i have an ibook notebook which has the standard airport card as it wont take the g series cards in it. i can connect to the net but run into a problem when i try to access some secure sites if i try to login to say ebay it takes me to password input page then i put the password in hit login and the ibook sticks as in get busy browser icon and thats it i am using wep on the wireless router i had no problem with this till a mac dealer changed the logic board on the ibook and the problem has seemed to stemmed from that although the mac dealer uses mac id access on his wireless network and the book works faultlessly then it also works if i turn wep off unfortunately as my router is a wireless access point i obviously cant run without wep or some other form of security protection i have tried using a different wep key with no sucess any help would be much appreciated

Which browser do you use?? I sometimes get problems with secure sites when using IE with my ibook on wireless. Works fine with safari or mozilla though.

I think the logic board issue that apple had has caused many people a lot of problems. I had mine replaced at the beginning of the summer and when i got it back my hard drive had been wiped, losing all my photos and music from the previous 2 years as well as all my uni work. I also find out that the cd drive doesn't recognise any cd's anymore, just comes up as blanks!!

the problem is being replicated in ie and safari and firefox which is damn annoying to say the least if it was one browser it wouldnt be a problem.as it stands its a pain using any wep enabled broadband

Try usings a WPA shared key, its much better than WEP
