HSBC any1 else really hate the people who answere the phones

I've been in contact with HSBC a few times this week to arrange some kind of agreement to pay of my creditcard with them, in the last few months i have had to use my overdraft facility also which is a big pain!

Now when i rang, i spoke to a nice guy who helped me work out a way to pay this back by putting the creditcard and overdraft in one and then when i get paid, i wont be going over my overdraft by paying it back each time.

So.. we agreed, he put my application through the system, it came back on a conditional yes, saying that i have to cancell my overdraft facility, so i agreed.
He said that i will be getting a call in a few days explaining what will be happening.

I have had no calls, just ones asking if i want travel insurence etc, and a foreign women asking me all my details, so she basicly got told to hop it!

I rang them back today, and spoke to a foreign guy, who wasn't helpfull at all. I asked him to give me information on what the other guy did for me.
He said, "yahh so you want credit card?" WTF.. after about 10 minutes of this i put the phone down.

Now i know when working around europe its hard to interperate what people say, so i guess that could be the reason.

Would it be rude of me to ask to speak to an english person?
or is there anyway i can call this guy back- i dont have a number or anything, maybe they have it on the system they have?

Unfortunately 90% of HSBC's contact centres are in India, Malaysia and China.

And i don't think that will change any time soon.

The most laughable thing about it is.....their own staff in the uk have got to use these call centres also because they also deal with different things, call routing to other depts etc.

How rubbish is that, when 2 people from the same company don't understand each other!

i despise the HSBC call centres due to the lack of understanding basic english langauge from the overseas staff..i have finally closed my account with the HSBC and informed them of my reasons why..

i am now witht he nationwide building society who have all call centres in bristain and who fully understand the english langauge...no more frustration and feelings of anger when i have to make a call, which is rare anyway..

what a relief

if more people changed over banks HSBC may sit up and take notice of what their customers want.

I work in one of the HSBC branches and i must say everyone that comes in complains about the service over the telephone. Just a heads up.. if you go into a branch and use the red telephone (should be somewhere in the branch) you will get through to an English callcentre and your call will be answered within 30 seconds.
