How many gardeners on Disqworld?

I'm going to be turning my back garden into a fruit n veg plot as it's a decent size and has a good aspect.

Just wondered how many others on Disqworld are into gardening, it's been a long time for me but then I have plenty of spare time so will give me something to do.

So lets have a poll to see what you're into....

Flowers and lawn, At the mo,

But have had a hankering to have a small veg plot again,

So will try and section off a small area, just to give it a go again.

9 views & 3 votes but only 2 posts.

Thing is with Polls peeps is they are done for a reason, I'd like to know who does what as well as how many, so can we please post if we vote, and if we view can we please vote even if you're not interested.

It gives me a better idea of what our members are interested in and whether to expand or collapse different forums.

Cheers

I got into gardening when I moved into my new house 18 months ago.

We bought a greenhouse last year so grew toms, cukes and peppers in there, half of my back garden is a paved bbq area and the other half (about 3mx3m plus a couple of raised beds) is a small veg plot where we grew beetroot, runner beans, onions and Swede last year and I'm still using the onions! I planted garlic a few weeks ago, garlic should be planted on the shortest day and harvested on the longest day so you could get some in now Smile

I've just sown some tomato, pepper and lobelia seeds ready for this year.

Havent touched my front garden since we moved in but will be tackling that this year. I plan to have a lawn with lots of flowers around the edge borders and trailing over the retaining walls. An olive tree as the central focal point and a "cut flower" border against the front south facing wall

Professional lanscaper

Hi
I guess you could say im into gardening, as i own a landscape firm www.gardencraft.co.uk
My own garden is very large but natural, not manicured, with lawns orchards, wood, streams, mature trees etc,
lovely place to chill out and forget everyone elses gardens.
If you have any specific gardening/landscaping questions i might be able to help

Cheers
sid

My wife loves gardening so I leave it down to her to do as she pleases, at least I don't have to mow the lawn Embarassed

I mainly use the garden for the summer bbq's, which we do have at least twice a week(summertime) Cool

Gardening all works

I manage a 50 man team covering all aspects of grounds maintenance not so much into allotment/veg planting though.
