I've got a 1 yr old cocker spaniel & i'm trying to teach her to fetch. She chases after the ball most of the time but just walks away when she gets there. Has anyone got any good ideas to train her.

Easy tell her when she's finished ironing, to go straight to the fridge and get the beer and bring it to you, just be polite

Only joking mate.
start of with small throws (don't use a ball) get yourself a training dummy used for gun dogs this means when you throw it that it stops and doesn't run on.

bring treats with you make the dog sit then give it a treat (always keep the dog cam) then throw the dummy 4-5 foot away from you.

you need to do this some where on your own so there are no other distractions at the start

my dog is 15 now she has always played fetch to a point she will get the ball or stick bring it close to you but you have to chase her to get it back lol
i sometimes think she is the one getting me to fetch.

Mine's exactly the same. She'll come near me but when i go to pick the stick up she goes in the other direction!! and she wont even the look twice if it was one of her toys, she only fetches them when inside the house!
