hi there on certain games when i try to load it it says
'the save data could not be accessed. please turn the power off and reinsert the ds card'

am i doing something wrong or is it just the rom

You need to update the firmware of your flash card.

Bear in mind, this solves the problem on some but not all games, as I have just found out. Check out the link in my last thread in this section. Some nice person posted a link, which I used.

The fact it's an R4 makes things a little difficult as the card is no longer supported. This means that even the latest firmware wont play a lot of newer games. There is a solution its just not as easy as with other cards. There is a 3rd party firmware that can be made to run on the R4 that works much better than the official one. However it is not as easy to install as the normal firmware. It is called YSmenu and a guide on how to install it can be found here http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=97615 , You may need to sign up to GBAtemp to read the forum which is well worth doing as they have a lot of info on NDS carts. None of the updates for R4 change anything in the card itesel its all just files on the SD card so if you do it wrong there is no risk to the R4, you just put the old files back on or try again. Make sure you copy any save files from the SD card to your PC before trying this so that you can copy them back afterwards if you lose them during the update. You shouldn't but you never know when things wont go smoothly.
