help setting hd tv up

i have just got a virgin hd box but when i try an set it to hd i cant seem to get it to work. can anyone help?

Shouldnt need to set it m8, connect via HDMI to HD TV & select the appropriate HD channel to watch - not a lot on freeview though, Ch4 HD & BBC HD but not necessarily the same programs as standard channels
