Heating/Warmth

Hi all.

I brought one off the oil filled radiators that lee suggested so far so good. I knoticed in my kitchen ( the only wall facing the oustdie apart from bathroom ) rest are joined on to the flats. Next to both windows side by side and above there seems to be mold/condensation there! The sills have gone on the windows, the windows them self are Drenched in condensation ( having them replaced in few weeks) I thought the dam proofing had gone. Spoke to my dad & Best mate and they said they had the same prob , and it was due to no heat getting to that place.

My dad had a built in wardrobe there was mold every where. And my mate behind his wardrobe.

My question is if its not the dam proofing and just no heat getting to it, how can i resolve the problem ?
I have no central heating.
My only ideas are, to paint the kitchen with anti condensation paint Or get one onf those thin pannel radiators out of b & q and stick it right near the prob. But they eat Electric its only 450w and on high uses 3p per hour. Dare to think what my 1500 one uses!

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

ventilation is your problem. kitchens and bathrooms require air change via an extractor fan. think of all the moisture generated by cooking, baths, showers, etc....... You can either stick one in the window or core through the wall and fit one. latter is neater.

another point - do you have a cooker extract hood with filter to catch smoke/fumes when cooking?

in the short term it will help to clear any moisture but not a good idea to use permanently.

yep gong to have to put some small Vents in , paint with the Anti Condensation paint and then when money allows invest in Gas central heating.

hopefully the Vents/new windows and paint will reduce nearly cure it.

Behind the wardrobe is ok blue just the kitchen and part of the bathroom.

Went down b and q got 4 x pannel heaters £140 for 4. 1 in kitchen 1 in bathroom 1 in front room and 1 in bedroom. That should sort the heat!!!!!!!

As for the vents i spoke to my mate whos doing the windows, hes going to add vents in them all. So when i get these heaters up and the new windows in it should fix the prob!!!

Trickle vents in the window will prevent condensation in living spaces such as bedrooms and lounges. For your kitchen and bathroom you will definitely need extractor fans.
