HDTV
i bought a panasonic plasma at the beginning of the year without hdtv and i've read a few threads saying to buy your tele now with hdtv. my question is how much difference will i notice when for instance sky turns to hdtv, will the picture still be funny like it can be now on certain channels or will it clear up? or will i need to have hdtv enabled?
cheers _________________ Backups supplied by me, you must own the original if not destroy after 24 hours.
HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION (HDTV): a form that provides crystal-clear quality wide-screen pictures with compact disc-quality surround sound. The aspect ratio of HDTV pictures is 16:9 as opposed to today’s 4:3 format.
google it and you can find out much more _________________

Sky HD service launches next year but do not expect more than 1 - 5 channels showing HD content, it will be many many many years before ALL sky channels go HD
To start with it will be the U.S shows as they are shot in HD now and also football. as well as some documentaries etc
HD in theory will look miles better than what we get now however its still dependant on how much bandwidth sky give each channel so what it will look like no-one knows yet
Sky have said to start with at least you will not need a TV which has a HDCP (a form copy protection) enabled input so you will be able to get HD using Component out on the Sky HD box, but as large screen TVS become more common sky will turn off component out or at least not allow it as much and you will then need a TV which supports HDCP protection
And not many do at present.
I am seriously interested in Sky HD for HD premiership football but i am not willing to pay more than 10 quid a month premium _________________ what....the.
any backups supplied to you are on the understanding that you own the original, if you do not , then you must destroy the backup copy within 24hrs as a sample

HDTV looks a lot better than the normal digital picture we have at the moment, like component is much better than a normal scart _________________ "Backups supplied to you are supplied on the understanding that you own the original, if you do not you must destroy the backup copy supplied within 24hrs as a sample"
I recently had a demonstration of a new home cinema setup at a specialist home cinema shop. I said that I wanted a plasma with HD TV compatability and the shop owner actually talked me out of it. The HD TV ready plasma was £500 more expensive too! Maybe it isn't worth it. _________________ http://www.disqworld.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=483870#483870

It is m8 trust me.
Either get a dvd player that'll up-sacle the image or even better get a video scaler (make sure it'll go to 1080p) and I know you'll see the difference.
I can only assume the seller needed to get rid of extra stock or made more money on the cheaper model he sold you. _________________ Ruu
