It is for blu-ray films mate, some look stunning in 1080p, most game and Sky HD will be upscaled though so no change from a 720p set.
1080p is also future proof. Each has it's pros and cons, personally I would get the 1080p if I had the money. _________________ I only buy backups of software I own. I do not sell backups at all
use to be a few hundred quid more for 1080p puts alot off
but for such a small amount i'd get the 1080p model _________________ Any Sales/Trades/Purchases made by me are done so on the understanding I /You own the original. If not they will be destroyed within 24 hours

1080i is Interlaced
1080p is Progressive....
Ive got a 46" Sony Bravia Full HD 1080p, with a PS3, xb360, HDDVD player and Sky HD... the ps3 works in 1080p, everything else is 1080i... to be honest, I cant tell the difference... its all amazing
as said above 1080p is future proof so is prob worth an extra 80 quid...
I just bought my nephew a new tv, it was a hanspree 37" from misco, it was 275 quid delivered... thought id give it a punt cos it was for his bedroom and playing his xbox360 via componant leads and the picture is amazing... also looks good when watching sky+ thru a scart lead!! _________________ "I do not sell anything and I only use backups of originals I already own"
The only thing I know about them is that they sponsor Ten Kate bikes in world superbike and supersport. _________________ I only buy backups of DVD's/Software I own. I do not sell backups.

Well the one I picked up for my nephew was a refurb so came with 6 months rather than 12/24 month warranty. But then again, it was 275 quid inc delivery, I dont think you could find a tv as cheap anywhere else.
When we switched it on and turned sky on thru the scart lead I was quite impressed by the picture. Then I got him an xbox360 and plugged that in thru the red/blue/green componant leads so is running in 1080i resolution and to be fair, the picture is brilliant!! - Sound is faultless and the actual unit seems very stable and not cheap and tacky... my only issue would be the remote control. Sky havent issued the remote codes yet so you have to use 2 remotes just to watch sky...
Im quite fussy when it comes to owning things like that, and if it was for me id have not bought it, but after getting that for my nephew, I wouldnt think twice about getting one as a replacement if my Bravia died on me.
If your looking for a cheap tv.. its worth a shot! _________________ "I do not sell anything and I only use backups of originals I already own"

Im sure you can get a bravia 40" with 5 year warranty for about the same money...
If you havent got anything HD then I wouldnt bother getting a tv until you can make full use of it!
Im paying a fortune for sky hd and I only ever watch sports hd and the odd movie in hd... im thinking of getting rid until theres a lot more hd stuff on.
Bluray is amazing tho _________________ "I do not sell anything and I only use backups of originals I already own"
