Our vine is 3 years old this year, it did start to set fruit but most of the fruit dropped, probably due to the crap weather this summer, grapes need lots of sun _________________ Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes, that way... your a mile away and have their shoes too

same here - looked really promising at first (loads of bunches) then the good old british weather lets us down and everything shrivelled and died _________________

my uncle used to grow a vine many years ago , his secret was to go to a farmer in spring & (dont read if squeamish)get a lamb or two that didnt survive and bury it in the soil around the root ball
hope this may help in next years vintage _________________

Usualy fruit drop is caused by bad polination and can be rectified by assisting pollination using a small artists brush or similar to polinate the flowers. When the plant is older it will need carefull pruning and bunches may need to be thinned to allow air to circulate properly and reduce disease. Would recomend using a good quality fertiliser with a high potash content during the flowering and fruiting season to boost the crop.
Hopr this is some help, _________________ Any backups supplied to you are on the understanding that you own the original copy, if not, you must destroy the backup copy within 24hrs
