Brand shiny new Ps3 and some help needed

Well finally got around top spending some hard earned cash.

Just bought the 80g model with GT5,MGS4,Drakes fortune,Resistance and Heavenly sword..

Going to get Wipeout as soon as i'm connected and give the PS3 a good run out.

Havent actually had a go on one as yet so quite looking forward to it Smile

Right i'm having a nightmare so any help would be excellent

Ok I have a mayflash vga cable and I have set it all up correctly (as far as I know) the problem is I'm only getting a picture on half my monitor!!!

Any ideas anyone??

what res is your montoir, that vga cable r u using? and what u trying to display 1080i or 720p

Max res on my monitor is 1400x900 and i'm trying to display in 720 from the

ps3 and the cable is a mayflash wii/ps3 vga cable.

well 19inch is deffo 720p,

I know you need a special cable for ps3 to go to vga, that looks like it but try a diffent mointor maybe (could be acable)

try 480i and see if you see full screen.

Yeah the cable should do the job for sure...Will have to blag another monitor

from somewhere...Tried 480i and no signal....

Gutted dont have a tv available either...No ps3 until I get it sorted... Crying or Very sad

Quick update..Managed to get it working..Had to get a vga box in the end...

Had a good blast on Uncharted..Not bad at all..Don't think much of Resistance though..Will give it another shot over the weekend..

Just bought Wipeout..Haven't played one since 2097..Forgot what a great game it is..Bargain at £12..

Bought it from game for £350 with the games which are second hand.

As for the vga box its a gadmei game box which cost £25 and yeah displays on

my monitor on 1440x900...Looks pretty good but not to hd tv standards but

expect that's due to the box as its quite cheap.For sure it's much better than

your standard tv mind. Smile
