boyz... u may all have valid points..... and all my drives r fat32..... i have alot of images stored on them.... but my point is win98 works for me..... it does the job..... i have very little problems.. unlike under xp.... this may well be due to my lack of understanding of xp.... or my hardware maybe incompatible..... hence my vote goes to win98...... under win98 my system is more stable.... _________________ Any backups supplied to you by us are supplied on the understanding that you own the original copy, if you do not, then you must destroy the backup copy as supplied within 24hrs as a sample copy

yes the voting is putting xp up on top.....
i think the only way to do a fair comparison is to have 2 identical systems with the only differance being the os..... maybe its an idea to c wot everyones basic config is.....
I dont think u can say os x or os y is best for burning dvd-r's.... u need to put an envoirnment around it..... and say "with setup zz os x is best for burning dvd-r's....."
ne way wots this i here about an 8 speed dvd writer???? _________________ Any backups supplied to you by us are supplied on the understanding that you own the original copy, if you do not, then you must destroy the backup copy as supplied within 24hrs as a sample copy

this is getting a bit silly the fact of the matter is im not saying what you have does not work , it looks like it does , if someone is looking to put a system on there pc i advise xp with a ntfs systemas at this point proven is the best system , again the fact of the matter is because your running 98 and it works ok , you think its the best. im not saying it is or not but xp works fine with this file system . upgrade mate _________________ refs: http://www.disqworld.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=251240#251240

OS has nothing to do with your formatted drives. XP will happily run on either NTFS of FAT 32, its the behind the scenes working that is the issue. Just the fact that Win 9x works solely on FAT32 is hardly a significant comparison. XP is probably the most "popular" but it would be hard to argue that it is indeed the best. _________________ Blessed are those that ask for nothing, for they shall not be disappointed.
