Bank Charges?

I have read all the articles about the above but I can't seem to get my head around this, if you have claimed your bank charges back, can you claim them back again or does that signature mean you can't when you originally signed for it in the 1st place? Thanks

Yes thats what my dad did but he is wanting to claim back £35 only because of the banks fault but they won't have any of it, he has all the proof and it does show it was Halifax's fault but won't refund him, he doesn't bank with them anymore but is going to get a charge on top of the charge for a failed direct debit which wasn't set up in the first place

Hi i'm a admin for a (free)bank charge website, he will not be able to0 reclaim unless the judgement of the finished but awaiting judgement case between the OFT(office of fair trading Vs The banks. if this is in the favour of the consumers then yes he will as the banks will have broke the law.

now this is the easier route for him though.

read the direct debit garuntee, if it is their fault or any company party to the direct debit, then the BANK are held liable to repay you the funds and they seek redress if it was the other party. tell him to place it in writing explaining that he fully understands the direct debit garuntee and he has evidence to support the fact it was their mistake and if they do not refund the charge you will report them to the FSA (which cost's the bank to be investigated Wink) and also the BBA (british bankers association)

they will pay it back but grudgingly Wink
