just had this nice email, with someone was going to give me £250 for a £40 phone

Please respond to the question below from joycebens. eBay will send an email to the buyer for you.

Q: Hello Seller, I am interested in the immediate purchase of this unit and will be making payment right away, I will be paying you £250.00 including shipping via Royal Mail Special Delivery as i will be paying you through Western Union Money Order Bidpay. I will like to ask if you would be able to ship as soon as payment is confirmed and approved by Western Union Auction Payments, this is due to the fact that its demand is high in my store and so i will want to complete the transaction in a very timely manner. If you can do this, email me with your name, contact address so that i can proceed with payment right away. You will be handling shipping with Royal Mail Special Delivery as i will be sending this unit to Africa. I will be expecting your reply ASAP. Regards.

Are there any scams using paypal being paid twice for the same item ?
This just happened to me one paypal payment arrived then 5 mins later the same amount arrived in my account. The buyer is new with zero feedback not had any other emails from them.Just reminds me of the ebay scam where the buyer overpays and you refund the difference then the money in your account is clawed back Rolling Eyes

Taken from the SUN online

eBay cons are 'too easy'
A JUDGE who admitted he had never heard of eBay yesterday called it a fraudsters’ paradise.

Judge Richard Bray blasted the auction website’s security as he sentenced a woman for selling non-existent tickets to Glastonbury Festival.

Sara-Louise Hambridge, 28, made £3,021 from five customers last year.

Cops were called in when she cashed their cheques but failed to send tickets.

At Leicester Crown Court, Judge Bray said eBay was based on trust.

He added: “I’m not surprised there is fraud.”

Hambridge, of Leicester, admitted fraud and got nine months’ jail, suspended for two years.

I put 4 nokia 7600 phones on ebay last night and so far have recieved 6 emails from people claiming to come from all over the world and wanting to pay by Western Union as long as i send the phone straight away to their father who's a Preacher in Nigeria etc. I used to just get emails like this every couple of weeks saying they want to deposit huge sums of money into my bank account and for my help they will pay me half all coming from Nigeria now the scammers seemed to have moved to ebay. It is so annoying cause a couple of them actually clicked the buy it now on 2 of the phones so I now have to relist and will have to pay again for that Mad

scam

Beware of any purchase wich involves payment by moneygram.
I recently purchased a phone from ebay, I didn`t notice that the payment was via moneygram which includes quite a heafty transaction fee, this is a perfect way to obtain money with little or no trace once it has been received.
This service is not meant to be available to traders & is for personal use only.
I was lucky the moneygram suspected fraud & cancelled the transaction & I got a full refund.

Well the scammers are out in force. On Thursday i sold a mobile advertised on ebay through a private sale. The man asked for express shipping and paid by pay pal. Sent phone on friday and gave tracking number to him via email. On Sunday he put a complaint on pay pal that he has not got his phone so i have the money on hold out of my account i have given the tracking number to pay pal but they still will not release the funds to me. I suspect the bloke is trying to get a refund now he knows the phone is on it's way. He will not take the hold of my account and has taken to ignoring all emails I send to him regarding this.

Can pay pal take the money of me and give it back to him even though i have supplied tracking info? As they have given a 2 day limit to this and basically said that if the buyer does not click resolve then the investigation will continue!! I have tried phoning pay pal but it would be easier to talk to the dead then get someone to answer your call there. Also tried emailing pay pal but get the error message everytime

Anyone got any advice on this please?
