Hi

Last week I updated from AVG 7.5 (free version) to AVG 8 Antivirus and Spyware free trial. (OS XP) When I did a full scan of my computer it highlighted 720 warnings mostly Adware with 30 Trogens. Prior to that the 7.5 version would pick up a few cookies and the odd spyware. To double check I then downloaded Spysweeper Spyware and Antivirus and Superantivirus, neither programmes found anything at all. I then uninstalled the 8 version and reinstalled the 7.5 and did another scan. Guess what, nothing found. Do you think it' s a scam by AVG to make me buy the full programme or have I really got all those hanging about. My computer is working as well as ever.

Im not sure really, why dont you let it do its thing either healing them or deleting them?

Ive never really herd avg to do a thing like that. I am about to update my avg free 7.5 to the newer 8.0 free soo.

I can't really delete them as most of them are tied up with the registry, they are only warnings. Went into AVG websight and it gave me the answer. See 1198.

I am no expert, bit yes I think I am fine especially as 2 other top Spyware and Virus programmes found nothing.

avg 7.5 was only a virus checker but avg8 does a little more so might find more
