Has anyone tried this yet? If you have paid for AVG7.5 then you can upgrade via the avg website for free.

I have downloaded the AVG8 IS. And it seems to cover a lot. It has added a bar into firefox and actively searches your URL for any malicious code before it loads.

My only gripe so far (and I have only had it 30 mins) is that it uses yahoo as it's search engine instead of allowing you to choose.

whats the deal with this. OK at the mo I think I have a few viruses, my pc is messing up totally. I was on norton (which a purchased a bundle from ebay) until all of the bloody updates started to expire. My mate told me norton was crap and to get this free AVG. IMO its been total wank. When i get a virus it tells me, but either doesnt offer HEAL or when i click heal it says unable to bloody heal!!!!!

I still have the norton bundle and tried installing it again tonight but it was just pissing about eating up memoery and wasnt sure if that was making the pc slow or the virus(s). AVG actually told me of these recent viruses (which adaware etc. did not) but didnt fix them!!!
